About this spot

The beach is mainly sandy with a small area of rocks consisting of sand dunes. There are mature sand dunes located on the beach which support a variety of plant species. There is also a variety of wildlife including crabs and seaweed. The nearest sites which have a statutory designation for conservation are Clogherhead SAC and Dunany Point NHA. The length of the bathing area is approximately 2300m in length. The beach is gently sloping into the sea at the bathing area.
